Protecting Our Oceans — Together

Every stroke we take connects us to something bigger. Let’s protect the waters we love.

Swimming for a
Cleaner Ocean

At Edge Aquatics, water is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we are proud to partner with Breathe Conservation, a South African non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting our oceans and reducing plastic pollution.

As swimmers, we experience the water daily. This partnership allows us to go beyond the pool and play a role in protecting the natural environments that make our sport possible.

About Breathe Conservation

Breathe Conservation is a South African non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting marine environments and reducing plastic pollution. Founded by open-water swimmer and environmental advocate Sarah Ferguson, the organisation is driven by the belief that ocean health is directly linked to everyday human behaviour.

Breathe works to create sustainable change through education, community engagement, and practical environmental action. By raising awareness about single-use plastics and promoting responsible, low-waste living, the organisation empowers individuals and communities to make more conscious environmental choices.

Their initiatives include environmental education programs, community beach and reef clean-ups, plastic-free living campaigns, and partnerships with businesses and local organisations.

Guided by the philosophy Live deeply. Tread lightly., Breathe encourages people to enjoy the ocean while actively protecting it for future generations.

Why This Partnership Matters

Swimming teaches discipline, resilience, and respect — and that respect extends to the water itself.

The ocean regulates our climate, supports biodiversity, and sustains life. Plastic pollution threatens marine ecosystems and the future of our waterways.

Through this partnership, Edge Aquatics commits to:

• Promoting environmental awareness within our swim community
• Encouraging plastic-free habits at training and events
• Supporting Breathe-led clean-up initiatives
• Educating swimmers on being responsible water ambassadors
• Using our platform to amplify ocean conservation efforts

This is about protecting the water that connects us all.
